Olivia was born in Northfield, Minnesota and graduated from St.Olaf College as a Studio Art and Education double major with a concentration in Nordic Studies. She is an avid learner, educator, and passionate artist aspiring to become an art teacher. She works in a variety of mediums, specializing in acrylic and watercolor painting as well as pen. Key themes within her artwork include topics of emotions, mental health, and freedom of creation. Olivia's work seeks to inspire others to think critically and to stay conscious of feelings the artwork may evoke.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Nannied 4 children ages ranging from 3-12 (Summer 2018, Summer 2019, Summer 2020)

  • Waitress at The Reunion during their first year after opening (2019-20) 

    • Flexible and adaptive due to many changes that happened at the restaurant the first year of opening. 

    • Quick on my feet and fast thinking when the restaurant was consistently at max capacity during the first few weeks. 

  • Server at Dairy Queen (2017)

    • Preparing food, handling money, cleaning, opening and closing responsibilities.

 

VOLUNTEER WORK

●      Alpha Phi Omega (Spring 2020 - Spring 2021)

●      TRIO Educational Talent Search Mentoring program in Minneapolis, MN (Fall 2018-Spring 2021)

○      Connect with students in grades 6-12, inspiring and encouraging them to continue their education into college through writing letters to one another. 

○      Creates a space for students to ask questions and get excited about their education. 

●      St. Olaf Bandana Project (2018-Spring 2021)

○      Advocate and resource for mental health resources.

●      Coached U8 Girls Hockey team, head coach (2017-18 Season)

○      Built one-on-one connections while teaching, encouraging, and supporting young girls how to be physically active while having fun.

HOBBIES & INTERESTS

    • I play to belonging to something bigger than myself, have my teammates feel accepted and included while pushing them to become their best versions of themselves.

    • Perseverance through senior season being cancelled.
